Kyle Busch dominated at Lowe's Motor Speedway on his way to his seventh NASCAR Nationwide Series win of the season as he bounced back from his bout with the flu last week in California. The series points leader ended an eleven-race winless streak by leading 137 out of the scheduled 200 laps on Friday night. Busch started fifth and took the lead from
Matt Kenseth on lap 22 following a restart and then it was all over.
Safety-Kleen's
Jeff Burton looked like he was possibly going to make a race out of it, but Busch shifted into another gear and ran away with the race. The only concern for Busch was late in the night when he was close on fuel, but
Kevin Conway took care of that problem when he ran out of talent and crashed. The caution laps gave Busch enough fuel to make it to the end.
Mike Bliss and
Dave Blaney had a great race and chased Busch all night and ended up second and third place while
Safety-Kleen's
Brian Vickers was fourth. Pole sitter
Carl Edwards was fifth and now is 195 points behind Busch for the championships with four races to go.
Safety-Kleen drivers
Brad Keselowski and
Ryan Newman were sixth and seventh and
Kasey Kahne rallied back from a lap down to finish in eighth. Jeff Burton and
Tony Raines rounded out the top-ten ahead of
Tony Stewart, who drove for
Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s team with support from
Safety-Kleen. Now the teams travel to Memphis for a late Saturday afternoon contest. Four races to go and it is all Kyle Busch.
