Harvick Dominates Them All

Kevin Harvick dominated the Nationwide Series event at Atlanta this past Saturday night and scored his second race win of the season. Starting from the front row,
Safety-Kleen driver Harvick took the lead from polesitter
Dale Earnhardt, Jr. when the green flag waved and never looked back. It seemed like he was just playing with the competition as he showed the field his Chevy was the one to beat. On the final pit stop, he did have a scare when the crew had trouble with the right rear tire, but as the field went back to green flag racing, Harvick used the Earnhardt Childress Racing horsepower to pass for the lead in the final laps. With the hiccup in the pits, Dale Earnhardt was able to grab the lead and it looked as if Earnhardt was going to be able to stretch his fuel mileage to take the checkered flag. But in the final two laps, Harvick and
Kyle Busch got around Earnhardt. The third place finish was like winning the race for Earnhardt, who has had a miserable season to date. One reason for the good performance was the addition of Tony Eury, Jr. back to the crew chief roll for the Nationwide team.
Brad Keselowski and
Jeff Burton, both
Safety-Kleen drivers, finished fourth and fifth with
Joey Logano in sixth, passing
Carl Edwards on the last lap. Busch increased his points lead over Edwards as the Nationwide teams head to Richmond next week.
