Home Town Boy Wins in Michigan

Brad Keselowski, the home town boy took the victory from
Brian Vickers and
Kyle Busch on the last lap to claim his third Nationwide Series win of the season at Michigan International Speedway. The Michigan favorite son was sitting in third and watching the battle for victory ahead of him between Vickers and Busch, then on the final lap of the race a mistake by Vickers allowed Keselowski the shot at the win. With two laps remaining, Vickers got loose at Turn 4 while leading, sliding up the track and right in front of Busch. Keselowski immediately closed on them as Vickers shut the door on Busch into the front stretch, forcing Busch to dive too low on the track. Keselowski motored around the outside of both and almost passed Vickers, running side by side with him into Turn 3 on the final lap. The
Safety-Kleen sponsored
JR Motorsports driver made the most of his run on the outside finally pulling off the pass for victory. All afternoon it was the "Vickers and Busch Show" as Vickers led 78 of the 125 lap event, but it all comes down to who comes across the finish line first. Needless to say after the race there were fireworks between Vickers and Busch for letting the "kid" win. Finishing fourth in the event was
David Regan followed by
Safety-Kleen's Kevin Harvick and
Ryan Newman with
Safety-Kleen/
Penske driver
Justin Allgaier in seventh. The race for the NASCAR Nationwide championship is all but over as Busch now has a 339 point lead as the teams head for Bristol next Friday night.
