Australian Wins at The Glen - Again

Marcos Ambrose from Tasmania, Australia beat
Kyle Busch to win his second Nationwide Series career victory at Watkins Glen. For the second year in a row the
Safety-Kleen sponsored driver took the victory at the 2.45 mile road course located in central New York state. The Glen is historically a fuel mile race so track position is critical and Ambrose knew that staying in second place behind Kyle Busch was not the place to be. With 18 laps to go and after the final pit stop Ambrose decided to try and pass Busch at the bus stop. The Australian dove under Busch and the car stuck, Busch was physically moved out of the way and Ambrose took the lead. Busch fought back at Ambrose during two restarts but had to hold off a stong
Carl Edwards for the position. Edwards finished third and didn't gain anything on Busch in the championship, now the gap is 212-point.
Safety-Kleen driver and pole-sitter
Kevin Harvick, who set a new track record in qualifying, got shuffled back with the different strategies, but he managed a fourth place in the end ahead of former race-winner Ron Fellows and Cup regulars
Jeff Burton,
Greg Biffle and
David Ragan, while
Brad Keselowski and
Scott Speed rounded out the top-ten. Michigan next Saturday - 2 mile oval in the Irish Hills west of Detroit where horsepower is the key.
