Zonta Wins Grand AM Sports Car Race

Krohn Racing won the Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series race on Friday evening at the Watkins Glen International Raceway in Upstate New York. The Brazilian Zonta dominated the second half of the race holding off a hard charging
Scott Pruett. Zonta who started in the 8th spot drove thru the field and led the final 21 laps.
Christophe Bouchut and Scott Tucker finished third, giving the team their first ever podium finish. Pruett and his co-driver Rojas maintained the championship lead with three events remaining, Pruett and Rojas lead Alex Gurney and
Jon Fogarty - who finished fourth by four points (248-244). Both teams entered the event tied for the lead. In the GT class,
Jeff Segal and Emil Assentato took the victory by 0.774 seconds over the Porche driven by
Dirk Werner and
Leh Keen. The next race for the Grand-Am Rolex Series will be Aug. 29 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve in Montreal, Canada.
