Briscoe Takes Kentucky Indy Car Race

Penske Racing and Safety-Kleen driver Ryan Briscoe ended his winless streak at the Kentucky Indy Car Race and took over the championship lead. The win was a close battle with Ed Carpenter and when we say close - how about winning by 0.0162 seconds margin at the checkered flag. The two drivers went wheel to wheel for the last 10 laps. Tony Kanaan took third for the Safety-Kleen backed Andretti Green team, with polesitter and pre-race points leader Scott Dixon finishing in seventh. The event was the most exciting oval race of the season since the new rule changes earlier in the week for the Indy Racing Series. The new aero packages and the famous "push to pass button" were added to produce added horsepower. Helio Castroneves used his push to pass button to take fourth and stay ahead of Graham Rahal, who had a strong race but finished in fifth. Dario Franchitti quickly fell back from his front row starting position before recovering to sixth, ahead of his Ganassi teammate Scott Dixon. Safety-Kleen's Danica Patrick and Marco Andretti took eighth and 10th. Thanks to the crew from the Louisville branch for a fine job this weekend. On to Mid Ohio next weekend for a road course that should help the championship hopes of the Safety-Kleen Penske team.
