Rossi Wins Close One at MotoGP in Germany

Valentino Rossi won on Sunday in Germany ahead of his Yamaha teammate Jorge Lorenzo, but the win was not easy at the Sachsenring. The pair were separated by less than one tenth of a second at the finish, followed by Dani Pedrosa and Casey Stoner. All four riders had a chance at the victory, but it all came down to tires at the end. Rossi made a great start from pole and had the lead at the first corner, followed by Pedrosa, but Stoner's tires came alive and he took the lead from Rossi on lap 7. Then Lorenzo's tires came in and he was able to go to the point and pass Stoner on lap 18. The battle between the four top riders was crazy for the next 10 laps, but with five laps of the 30-lap race left, Lorenzo took the lead from Rossi and Pedrosa passed Stoner for third. Rossi didn't give up and dove to the inside of Lorenzo and there was nothing he could with Rossi defending the line on the last lap. The race will go down as one of the closest in MotoGp history. US rider Ricky Hayden took a bad spill in qualifying and was able to race on Sunday to a top ten finish. The MotoGp teams will race at Indy in September.
