Josh Hayes started from pole and went wire to wire to win the Super Bike event at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course on Sunday. Hayes held off his teammate Ben Bostrom on his Yamaha to score the victory. Tommy Hayden won the start of the 21 lap race, but gave up the point to Hayes in Turn 6 on the first lap. Hayes then lost the lead to Bostrom in Turn 6 on Laps 8 and then on lap 11 retook control of the field. Bostrom held off the remainder of the lead pack to finish .987 seconds behind Hayes followed by Hayden. Championship leader Mat Mladin finished seventh and leads Hayden by 126 points in the American Superbike championship standings. Next up for AMA Pro American Superbike is a doubleheader at the Tornado Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka on the weekend of July 31-August 2. The Kent, Ohio services the Mid Ohio track and did a great job this weekend.
